Cold Rolled Coils

CRC-Cold Rolled Sheet/Plate

Cold-rolled sheet (commonly referred to as "cold-rolled plate") is a type of steel sheet or strip produced by rolling hot-rolled coils at room temperature (below the recrystallization temperature) to reduce their thickness. Since the rolling process does not involve heating, the material does not develop the iron oxide scale typically found on hot-rolled products; consequently, its surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical properties are generally superior to those of hot-rolled sheet.

Key Characteristics
Specification Range: Typically 0.2 mm to 4 mm in thickness and approximately 600 mm to 2000 mm in width.

Main Usage
  1. As a substrate for coating and plating: It serves as the most common raw material for the production of galvanized coils, galvalume (aluminum-zinc alloy coated) coils, and pre-painted (color-coated) coils.
  2. Automotive and home appliances: Used for automotive body panels and structural components, as well as for the exterior casings and internal parts of home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines.
  3. Light industry and construction: Used in the manufacturing of hardware, bicycles, furniture, steel doors, and profiled steel sheets for construction purposes.

There are two types of post-processing conditions:
Full-hard coil: A product that is coiled directly after cold rolling without undergoing annealing. Due to work hardening, it exhibits high hardness (HRB > 90) and poor plasticity, making it suitable only for simple deformation processing.

Annealed cold-rolled coil: A full-hard coil that has undergone an annealing process, which eliminates work hardening and internal stress while restoring plasticity. This is the standard delivery condition, facilitating subsequent stamping and forming operations.
